The child draws strange drawings: what does this mean?
Children are the most beautiful thing that we have, from the very young age we have been taking care of them, developing and trying to provide them with all the most necessary things. When a child is very small, it's easier to find contact with him, but the older he gets, the more reliable level of trust between parents and children, sometimes things that we do not even suspect in the heads of these small fidgets.
Even when the child is very small and does not know how to talk, you want to understand what he thinks about, what fears or experiences live in his thoughts, maybe something is missing or, on the contrary, some moments should be excluded from his life.
To this end, children's psychologists have long put forward the hypothesis of analyzing the child's mental state by his work: drawings, fakes, or other ways of expressing himself.
From the youngest years, when the baby has not even really learned how to express his thoughts through speech, he tends to imitate adults. If you showed him some graphic samples, then he will certainly begin to embody his first artistic "masterpieces".
At first it will be just sticks, then circles will start to appear, and after a while the circles will learn to connect with the sticks, forming the first coherent images.
Most often, the little ones in their drawings try to depict everything that surrounds them: flowers, sunshine, trees, mom, dad, beloved dog or cat and, of course, themselves.
Over time, individual pictures will begin to develop into whole plots; children find the strength to illustrate books in their own way and comment on favorite cartoons; life events, and often real ones, will come up on paper.
At the age of 5 to 6 years, the child is able to draw about 2 thousand drawings per year, it is interesting that the stories can be very diverse, but more often, they are constantly repeated, just in different interpretations.
Unfortunately, it happens that the little ones depict in their drawings something completely different from what parents would like to see: monsters, weapons, battles, injuries and other horror films. Do such images have any particular soil, maybe this is a manifestation of fears and an internal negative, I would like to know what these children's drawings mean?
Child psychologists claim that wounds, scars and injuries, horror films and monsters depicted in children's drawings are all signs of child aggression. But one should not confuse the over-saturated imagination of a child with recently viewed films or cartoons with real psychological problems and deviations.
How in all this to understand?
Children's drawings are really quite a good way to understand and feel the inner world of your child, and besides, again, with the help of fine art, many problems can be solved.
Try to determine what is shown in the picture of your baby, ask him what he thinks about his drawing. If the information is not enough, then think about what you see: the plot of the picture, in many respects, depends on the sex of the child.
For example, if a boy draws castles and princesses, this is also somehow not very good, which indicates a bad bell for his inner rejection of his masculinity, as well as drawings of a girl who is fond of cars and robots.
Try to make out the nature of what he saw that the kid wanted to show: his desire to be involved in some kind of adventure, let it not be the most positive, or subconsciously get pleasure from scenes of pain, death and injury.
If a child draws terrible pictures that do not fit in your understanding, it is necessary to understand what they are talking about.
Often through such painted images, the kid reveals all his experiences, fears and fears, especially attention should be paid to the creations of children who have endured some serious stress that completely changed their lives.
Approach the analysis carefully, remember that some of the children's drawings play a supporting role, which is in no way connected with reality. For example, black is not always a sign of aggression, it’s just brighter and clearer than the rest, and a drawn werewolf or a zombie is an emotion derived from watching a movie.
How to help your child in this situation?
If you have found such, not the most joyful pictures of your child, then you should not run to him first thing and try to prohibit to depict such things in the future.
You will not force him to draw what you like, but the desire to create, most likely, will completely discourage, as well as one of the opportunities to open up before you.
Such art can only be influenced indirectly by the child’s psyche: eliminate or reduce to a minimum the TV viewing, sometimes seen in the most unusual way, can be deposited in the child’s memory.
From an early age try to surround the child with good cartoons and books, where fair and positive heroes live, and if evil is the place, there will always be a way to defeat it.
If you still can not figure out why the child draws nightmares, then refer to the situation in the family: where there is no place for anger, sadness and aggression, "heavy" children do not grow up.
Small children are very afraid of domestic quarrels and scandals, so if they are frequent guests in your home, they can easily appear in the pictures of your baby. In order to understand what is wrong in the creations of your child, try to turn your attention to the specific details of the drawing.
- The paper depicts too many sharp corners, it is made in black or, on the contrary, excessively bright colors, and a pencil or felt-tip pen literally pressed through, tearing the sheet.
- Systematically repeated images of catastrophes, deaths, injuries and frank horrors.
- A child never depicts his parents or, on the contrary, constantly draws parents without himself.
- A large number of monsters or monsters that bring pain and injury to living people or animals.
Unfortunately, it often happens that it is difficult for parents to figure out what their kid wants to say in his work. How to help your child if he constantly draws terrible pictures, what to do if you have never encountered such a situation?
Of course, the best option is to turn to a child psychologist, for whom it is much easier to recognize the creative “ciphers” of your child. If a child is very afraid of doctors, then try to present this campaign in a playful way, and already on site a professional will be able to find an individual approach to everyone.
Do not rush to take a child to a psychologist first thing, it is quite possible that you were scared in vain, so try to see a specialist for the first time yourself: show the pictures and tell about your baby.
