Original Christmas toys: knitted ornaments on the Christmas tree
Christmas ball can be tied from scratch, but then you have to fill it with cotton wool or padding polyester. It makes a toy heavy. It is best to tie the already existing ball of plastic. You can knit and crochet, and on the needles - in the first case you get elegant openwork balls, and in the second - warm and dense, reminiscent of home comfort.
Knitted Christmas balls: crochet
You will need a ball for tying, a pattern, a hook of the appropriate size and yarn - in one or two colors. There are no restrictions for fantasy in this variant - the more unusual a pattern is obtained, using even the simplest elements, the better. Remember only about symmetry, repeating elements above and below the ball. Very easy crochet balls can be tied by replacing the plastic ball-substrate with air. Do not forget to smear it with bold baby cream, and soak two “hats” of yarn in PVA glue before putting it on the balloon and tying them - also with a thread dipped in glue.
Then it will be possible in a day to burst the ball with a needle, and the Christmas tree toy will be almost weightless, like a real snowflake. But this is only suitable for those schemes that consist of two interconnected "caps" - tie a balloon like a plastic ball, it's rather difficult, especially because the glue soaked in the glue quickly freezes.
Knitted Christmas balls: knitting needles
You will need knitting needles, a yarn of two colors (if you want a ball with a pattern), a scheme and a ball for plastic, on which you fasten the knitting ornament. Yarn is best to choose thinner, but woolen, fluffy - such balls will look like a winter warm and cozy. Colors can be taken any, but usually choose classic combinations for winter holidays - white and red, white and blue, red and gold. Gold yarn is usually quite stiff because of the interlacing of the shiny threads, and if you want the gold color to be present in the drawing, add loops with it, tightening them less than others, otherwise the pattern will not turn out even.
Among the pictures that can be knitted in a small space of a ball, the same themes dominate in popularity, which are usually depicted on traditional winter things - deer, snowflakes, Christmas trees, faces of hares, foxes and wolves, snowmen.Remember that the picture will be a bit “pixel” and must be repeated in a circle so that it is on all sides of the ball. Remember what vintage woolen socks and sweaters look like? Something similar should happen on this Christmas-tree decoration.
You can knit around like a sock (you will need more knitting needles), or separately - this is easier, but in the end you will have to join the sections (you will get stitches). In any case, the Christmas ball is round, and for its strapping with a pattern without errors, you will need a scanning pattern similar to a peeled orange peel — four diamond-shaped sections interconnected by bridges. Spread the picture over them. You can knit around like a sock (you will need more knitting needles), or separately - this is easier, but in the end you will have to join the sections (you will get stitches).
Striped lollipop: crochet
So motley knitted sweets do not even need a loop - they can be hung on Christmas tree branches by bending from above. To tie a striped candy, take the hook of a large number, a thick enough yarn of two colors and a thick wire. Fold the wire in 5-6 times and bend the blank in the form of a future candy - this will be the base.
Now knit first of the yarn of one color, and then - another chain of 30 air loops, knitting 3 columns without crochet into each loop. Stripes "wrapped" in a spiral. Connect the spirals with each other, wind around the wire and secure. Is done.
