Louis Tomlinson Opens Up About Losing His Mom, Wanting To Give Up & Fatherhood
Louis Tomlinson speaking about losing his mum is truly heartbreaking
‘Mum, how the fuck do you expect me to do this now?’
We’ve already heard Prince William admitting to missing his mother every day and now another celebrity has spoken out about his grief, too.
Helping someone through grief (or going through it yourself) is really tough and it’s not something that ever really goes away. But, it does get easier to deal with in time.
In a new interview with The Guardian, former One Direction band member Louis Tomlinson, 25, opened up about losing his mother, Johannah Deakin, to leukaemia back in early 2019.
Johannah was 43 when she passed away and the pair were incredibly close. In fact, Louis thanks his mum for getting him to the position he is in today, saying: ‘sometimes my reservation, or my confidence, might have prevented me from doing something. And I’ve needed a mum in the past to kick me up the arse and go: ‘You’re doing it.’
Upon recalling the moment he found out his mother’s illness was terminal, he describes his reaction as: ‘I remember saying to her: ‘Mum, how the fuck do you expect me to do this now?’ And she didn’t swear much, my mum. She’d always tell me off for swearing.
