"Furamag": instructions for use

"Furamag" is prescribed for the treatment of infectious and inflammatory processes in the urinary system (urethritis, acute and chronic cystitis, pyelonephritis), infected burns, gynecological infections, respiratory diseases (pneumonia, bronchitis), infections of soft tissues, skin, sepsis. The drug contains the potassium salt of furazidine and magnesium hydroxycarbonate.
The drug inhibits the growth and development of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria that are resistant to other antimicrobial agents. Furamag is active against Gram-negative microorganisms (enterobacteria, Shigella, Salmonella, Klebsiella, Eischerhia coley, Protea), Giardia, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus. The tool does not inhibit the immune system, but activates it, stimulating the formation of white blood cells.
"Furamag" produced in the form of capsules. Take them after meals with plenty of fluids.For adults, the daily amount of the drug is 15-300 mg, it should be divided into 3 doses. The maximum daily amount of "Furamag" is 600 mg. For children from 1 year to 10 years per day, give 5 mg per 1 kg of body weight. Dose divided into several stages. For children with a body weight of more than 30 kg, give 50 mg of medication 3 times a day. Reception duration - 7-10 days.
"Furamag" is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to its components, with toxic hepatitis, chronic renal failure, polyneuropathy, polyneuritis, during periods of pregnancy and lactation, in children under 3 years old. With caution, the drug is used for deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, severe renal failure, diseases of the liver and nervous system. With prolonged use, Furamag causes nausea, dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, impaired liver function, and allergic reactions.
In case of overdose, the following symptoms appear: neurotoxic reactions, polyneuritis, toxic hepatitis in acute form. For the purpose of treatment, prescribe antihistamines, vitamins of group B, intake of large amounts of water.The simultaneous use of Furamag with Ristomycin, Chloramphenicol, sulfonamides leads to inhibition of blood formation.
